Types of Threads

  • N.P.S.L. - Straight Pipe Threads Used for Loose Fittings Mechanical Joints with Locknuts.
  • N.P.S.M. - Straight Pipe Threads used for Free-Fitting Joints or Fixtures.
  • N.P.T. - Taper Pipe Threads for General Use (Found on Standard Pipe Nipples).
  • N.P.T.F. - Taper Pipe Threads Used for Fuel and Oil Fittings (Makes a Pressure Tight Seal Without the Use of Lubricant or Sealer).
  • N.P.S.H. - Straight Pipe Threads Used to Make Hose Connectors.
 

Machining Process

  • Plain Roller Cut - End is cut with a Roller Pipe Cutter.  No additional machining is performed.
  • Square Ream - A Machining Process That Cuts the End of the Pipe on a 90 Degree Angle to the wall.
  • Ream & Chamfer - A Machining Process that cuts the End of the pipe on an Angle (Usually 38 to 42 Degrees) to the wall.
  • Victaulic Groove - A Groove Cut Into the Wall of the Pipe Used to Make an Air Tight Connection without Threads.
  • O.D. & I.D. Machining - Per Print Only.
  • 1/8" - 1" Diameter Pipe Bending - Per Print Only.
