Data Collection In addition to our ERP system, Merit ensures accuracy through a sophisticated Data Collection System that includes RF (Radio Frequency) scanning. Using a bar code system, product can be received and distributed more accurately and expediently. With the addition of this technology, Merit has reduced errors and customer service personnel are able to communicate stock checks in real-time, resulting in increased customer satisfaction.
EDI Merit began offering EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) in 1996. EDI is the transmission of information via computers with the assistance of a VAN (Value Added Network). The VAN acts as a translator of the information from our customer’s computers to ours. This form of technology enables our customers to perform business functions seamlessly and accurately. Email Services Merit offers our customers the ability to receive their packing slips, order confirmations and estimates electronically through e-mail. With the receipt of your packing slip, you will know which material is shipping, what has been backordered (if anything) as well as receive tracking numbers for your shipment. With our order confirmations, you will receive pricing, availability and form of transportation prior to the processing of your order. Upon receipt of this confirmation, Merit enables our customers to contact us with any corrections within 1 hour. After an hour elapses, Merit releases the order to the shipping department. Finally, with our estimate response forms, you will receive pricing and stock status of the product(s) you are inquiring about. Merit strives to make the ease of doing business with us as seamless as pipe.
