As we navigate an evolving trade landscape, Merit Brass continues to take a proactive and thoughtful approach—closely monitoring federal tariff developments and conducting in-depth analyses of the cost impact to affected products. This diligence has allowed us to maintain pricing stability for as long as possible, while preparing for necessary adjustments with transparency and a sharp focus on minimizing disruption to you and your customers.
The U.S. government has enacted a 50% ad valorem duty on imports of semi-finished copper and copper-intensive derivative products under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act. This tariff applies to entries into the United States beginning August 1, 2025. In response to these regulatory changes and the resulting increase in sourcing costs, Merit Brass will implement list price adjustments on the below piping products, effective September 2, 2025. These adjustments are directly tied to the impact of the new trade regulations and reflect our continued effort to manage costs responsibly while maintaining the quality and reliability you expect from us.
